Datalogger: this is what it means

In the industry, but also in public buildings and in the private sector, it can be necessary to measure some values of the air. Besides temperature and humidity, also CO₂ value is a clue about the indoor air quality. In order to assure a pleasant indoor climate it’s necessary to have always under control the development of these values.

That’s where Testo’s data recorder comes into the play: Datalogger. There are some data recorders that permit to verify the optimal conditons for certain products. Temperature data logger are often employed. A USB data recorder guarantees a particularly simple use. But there are also more practical solutions.

Measuring instruments: different variations

There are different versions of the Datalogger. The one for temperature measurements is particularly known and it’s often employed. But there are also other variations that can be really useful, like the CO₂ Datalogger. It is able to measure gas concentration in air. CO₂ Datalogger can be particularly useful where many people work or study in a confined place, because it reports when it’s time to air the room.

In the storage of products and in the logistics, products quality can be endangered by the intensity of UV rays, which can be monitored assembling a UV Datalogger. But even vibrations and collisions, for example during transportation, can damage the products. In this case it is possible to use a Datalogger with shock monitoring.

  • You can employ more than one Datalogger
  • It is possible to measure vibrations, temperature and CO₂ concentration

Datalogger and data transmission

With Testo’s range of Dataloggers you’ll always have the best equipment for every sector in which you want to make measurements. The most important feature is the accuracy of the measurement results, but it is also essential the data transmission mode for data analysis. Other relevant features are data storage and repeatability of the measurements. Data transmission and the usage of these tools can take place through two modalities:

USB Datalogger

USB Datalogger is often the first choice because it recharges quickly and it permits to save measurement data optimally. This type of Datalogger includes also a calibration certificate and a configuration file. In this way it’s possible to export the data directly on a PDF file and print it. The analysis can take place immediately. Datalogger benefits are mostly practical:

  • Creation of the PDF file on the end device
  • Flexible time of use
  • Easy to use
  • They already include the configuration file

WiFi mode Datalogger

Another variation can be the WiFi mode Datalogger. If measurements has to be made on multiple rooms or in bigger environments it can be useful the WiFi mode. In this way data are transmitted to an end device so you can keep under control every room, saving time and money.
